Church's Scholar Athlete - Martin Kaleu

Martin Kaleu is a member of the Coppell Cowboys basketball team and also sports an eye popping 5.68 grade point average. He ranks 2nd in his class and also participates in Habitat for Humanity as well as volunteering at homeless shelters. Congratulations to Martin Kaleu for being today’s Church’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.
E-5 coach of the week - Matt Shabay

Today’s E5 Assistant Coach of the Week is Matt Shabay of Keller high school. Shabay has been an assistant for the Indians for 5 years and has really put in the work this year. He has worked 2-a-days all year long by helping with varsity practice at 6:30 am and then coaching the freshman team until 5:30 at night. If that’s not enough, Shabay teaches 5 classes a day and drives the team bus. E5 supports all coaches throughout the metroplex.
Whitewright advances with a 47-43 win over Ponder

Whitewright got 7 clutch points from junior Tyrone Swoopes down the stretch to advance to the third round of the playoffs.
Chevy MVP - Orlando Byrd

With the playoffs on the line, Justin Northwest senior Orlando Byrd knew it was time to bring his A game. In a showdown with Fossil Ridge, he exploded for a season-high 20 points, knocking down 4 shots from behind the arc to give Northwest a 47-43 win and more importantly a berth in the state playoffs. For his clutch performance, Orlando Bryd is our Chevy MVP!
E-5 coach of the week - Elisha Walker

Today’s E5 Assistant Coach of the Week is Elesha Walker of Duncanville High School. Walker has been the assistant for the Pantherettes for the past 11 years and is in charge of everything from statistics to equipment to implementing the out of bounds plays. Her biggest asset may be her ability to keep her players emotions in check during the most stressful times. E5 supports all coaches throughout the metroplex.
Chevy MVP - Tavarious Shine

Going into last Friday night's game with Grapevine, the MacArthur Cardinals needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Thanks to some hot shooting from junior forward Tavarious Shine, the Cardinals did just that. Whether he was knocking down 3's or slashing to the basket, the Mustangs had no answer. Shine finished with a game-high 30 points in a 50-48 win. For helping his team advance to the state playoffs, Tavarious Shine is our Chevy MVP.
Church's Scholar Athlete - Jonathan Harder

Jonathan Harder of Fort Worth Christian is a 2 year lettermen on the Cardinals basketball team. He has a 4.0 GPA and ranks first in his class. Besides playing sports, Harder is Student Body President, a member of the National Honor Society and an Academic Meet Participant. Congratulations to Jonathan Harder of Fort Worth Christian for being our Church’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Today’s E5 Assistant Coach of the Week is Sean Tippett of Carrollton Creekview. Tippett is an assistant on the Mustangs varsity team as well as head coach of the freshman boys. Sean is hard working, enthusiastic and quick to build relationships with his athletes and collegues alike. E5 supports all coaches throughout the metroplex.
Church's Scholar Athlete - Jasmine Leday

Jasmine Leday of Denton Guyer is the leading scorer for the Wildcat basketball team. Not only is she hitting jumpers, but she is hitting the books as well. She has a 3.2 GPA and is a member of PALS. In her spare time, Jasmine volunteers at local elementary schools and is a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Congratulations to Jasmine Leday of Denton Guyer for being today’s Church’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.
