Church's Scholar Athlete - Ryan Horton
2012-01-20
Ryan Horton is a 6 foot 9 center for the Frisco Raccoons basketball team. He has a 4.06 grade point average and besides towering over defenders, Horton is a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. He is extremely active at his church where he volunteers and is also helps teach at Sunday School. Congratulations to Ryan Horton for being the Church’s Scholar Athelte of the Week.

Travis Stubblefield of Justin Northwest Nigh School is a junior offensive lineman for the Texans. He has a 3.75 GPA and ranks in the top 5% of his class. Besides being an All District o-lineman, Stubblefield is also a powerlifeter, a member of the National Honor Society, and the treasurer for his junior class. Travis also takes great pride in being an assistant coach for a 6th grade little league football team. Congratulations to Travis Stubblefield for being Church's Scholar Athlete of the Week.
Church's Scholar Athlete - Week 14

This week’s award goes to Richardson senior Kazi Faruque. He has a 3.44 grade point average and ranks in the top 15% of his graduating class. Besides playing football, Faruque is active in Student Council, Interact Organization, Law Review and the National Honor Society. Kazi takes part in track and also dabbles in some music production. Congratulations to Kazi Faruque for being our Church’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Anthony Jones of Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth is the definition of student athlete. He sports a 4.56 GPA and ranks first in his class. Besides dominating the offensive line, Jones also throw the shot put, volunteers for the World Vision Program, is in student government and participates in the Drama Club. Jess Weece of Carrollton High School is a senior tight end for the Mustangs. He ha a 3.91 grade point average and ranks 29th out of a class of 437. Besides studying and catching the pigskin, Weece is also a powerlifter, a member of the Mustang Reading Program and also volunteers at Valley View Christian Church. Nick Tschoepe of Carrollton Christian Academy plays the offensive and defensive line for the Saints. The senior has a 3.51 grade point average and also does a number of extracurricular activities including class council, yearbook staff, track, and theater. Tschoepe also did a mission trip to Guatemala and is a volunteer counselor at Hidden Acres Summer Camp. Trevoris Buckner is the team captain and defensive back for the Grand Prairie football team. Buckner has a 3.5 grade point average and ranks in the top 20% of Grand Prairie’s senior class of 538. Besides doing well in school, Trevoris also is a member of the student council, FCA and African American Student Organization. Plano East Senior Peter Edgette plays offensive line for the Panthers, but is also a force in the classroom. He has a 3.82 grade point average and ranks in the top 15% of his class of nearly 15 hundred students. Edgette also does track, volunteers at Habitat for Humanity and in his spare time, is an excellent cook. Congratulations to Plano East’s Peter Edgette for today’s Church’s Scholar Athlete of The Week

David Gebauer is a senior linebacker at Duncanville High School. He ranks 8th in his class of 826 students and holds down a 4.0 GPA. Besides playing football, Gebauer is in Acapella Choir, FCA, Student Council and is a youth mentor. Congratulations goes out to David Gebauer for being our Church’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.
